November 3, 2013 Aina Haina

We had a nice family style booking last night in Hawaii Kai – It was a retirement party for a Navy Captain – 28yrs of service and he wanted to celebrate!   Great Hawaiian Trio with Jeff, Duane, and Henry. They are the best – carrying on in the tradition of the masters with their authentic sound. It was just beautiful and really made the party something special.

Beautiful Hawaiian Music with Jeff, Duane, and Henry.

August 13, 2013 Ocean Crystal Chapel
Trumpet / Organ
Played a beautiful traditional wedding at the Ocean Crystal Chapel today on site at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I played piccolo trumpet and was joined by Tom Poole on organ. We played Purcell’s Trumpet Tune for the bridesmaid’s procession and Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary for the entrace of the bride. Did a nice version of”Ode To Joy”, which all in attendance joined and sang. We concluded the ceremony with the spirited “Hornpipe” from Handel’s “Water Music “as the recessional. Really a beautiful ceremony and Best Bridal does a fantastic job as host and coordinator.

September 4, 2011 Halekulani
We put together a classy and varied musical program for Rita and Howard at their wedding on the Hau Terrace at the Halekulani. They wanted something that included piano and strings to play classical selections for the ceremony and a small jazz combo for the reception. So we put together a Piano Trio for the ceremony – that is, Piano, Violin, and Cello – a beautiful chamber music combination. The Trio played many classical favorites including the traditional Wagner Bridal Chorus and Mendelssohn Wedding March – Bravo! For the ceremony we went with our classic Jazz Duo of Piano and Acoustic Bass – this is the best, and really one of the only type of groups you can have on the Hau Terrace. The Duo played classic jazz standards, swing, and Latin, including the bride & grooms special first dance request “My One and Only Love”. Beautiful. Email us today and let us put together fantastic music for your special event.

This guest loved the Piano Trio’s music and decided he would sing along with Anna.
Labor Day Weekend 2010 Waikiki Shell
Pacific Jazz Ensemble played at the Waikiki Shell today for the 2010 Labor Day Picnic. Despite the heat onstage – it felt like it was 120 degrees up there – we played a great set and really had a blast. Nice to see so many come out to picnic on the lawn and enjoy the live music and good food with family and friends.

June 19, 2010 Kaneohe Yacht Club
Pacific Jazz Ensemble played a great wedding yesterday for a really nice local couple Tracey and Erick. Kaneohe Yacht Club provided the perfect informal setting for the reception party and everyone had a blast. Tracey and Eric knew exactly what kind of music they wanted for the reception and requested that we play music by Chris Botti, Jeff Kashiwa, Euge Groove, and The Rippingtons. We are always happy to play requests, but these requests made the gig particularly fun for us! We wish Tracey, Eric, and the entire family all the best. Thanks for making us part or your celebration.

April 3, 2010 Turtle Bay Resort
This past weekend found us on the North Shore of Oahu at the Turtle Bay Resort with our String Duo playing for a beautiful wedding reception in the Wedding Pavilion. This is a great open air location right on the water with stunning views of the ocean. We set up just outside the Pavilion and played an assortment of classical Prelude music to set the tone as guests gathered. The sound of the strings seemed to blend in perfectly with the natural setting. The Duo performed Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring for the entrance of the Bridal Party, followed by the traditional Pachelbel Canon for the entrance of the Bride.

March 27, 2010 Kahala Resort
Weplayed for a lovely, small intimate wedding at the Kahala Resort on Saturday. Sasha played traditional classics on Solo Violin for the ceremony. The music was just perfect for the bride and groom and their group of twenty family and friends. (Sasha even stayed after the ceremony and serenaded eveyone during picture taking). The ceremony took place outside on the beautiful grounds of the resort.
October 6, 2009 Hawaii Convention Center
Had a really nice gig with Pacific Jazz Ensemble yesterday. We played for Henry Schein Co. and the ADA convention up on the Roof Top Garden at the Hawaii Convention Center. We played some great music in to the late afternoon with a cool breeze and a view of the city. Bruce Hamada joined on upright bass. Everyone had awonderful time. Altogether a great gig. Hope to play up there more often!
